Detents

Detents are noticeable clicks on a throttle to indicate important points like engine idle and afterburner. In some sims like Falcon 4 you can set these throttle positions to match your throttle detents. The Thrustmaster Cougar and Logitech G940 are two HOTAS examples that have throttles with detents.

It is possible to move the location of the detents or remove them on the Cougar, but it does require disassembly of the throttle. There are instructions on the Cougarworld website on how to do this. On the Cougar the detent positions generate loud clicks.
